- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★Best fish & chips anywhere I've been in Ontario. The menu has a very good selection of things expected in a fish & chip shop. Atmosphere is terrific. If you sit at the front of the restaurant you have a fabulous view of a massive Canadian Shield rock outcropping several hundred feet high that is very picturesque. If you sit at the rear of the restaurant, you have a peaceful and relaxing view of the York River as it flows by just a few feet away. Can't help but laugh at Rob R as the only negative review here. Bancroft is a small rural town 225 KM from the nearest US Border crossing and he's complaining they didn't want to take US currency? Try passing off Canadian money in a small town even in upstate New York and see what kind of response you get.
